A Week of Walking
We’ve gone away for a week. I wanted a chance to walk every day for 5-6 days… test my gear, my feet, my stamina… break the 20km mark… just prepare. So, we drove down to the Tarn department with no fixed plan and found a little campsite for the camper just outside of Albi.
Three Days Training
There are just 9 weeks to go before I start my walk… just 9 weeks left to train… to get fit. When I started this I thought I had ages, I thought I would be running up hills at this stage and yet here we are with 9 weeks to go and I still feel so unnprepared.

Why…
In 2013 we had a holiday in Northern Spain. We set off in our camper and drove west along the coast from France for a day or two and then south to Burgos. After a couple of days there we drove on to Leon, heading to the coast at Vigo.
I kept seeing hikers… Gerry called them ‘shellers’ but they were of course pilgrims. I watched through the window as we drove along and by Leon I was very curious. By the time we arrived at the coast I was committed. Continue reading
